I am happy to be at Ascent Academy. I was born in Provo, but raised everywhere but Provo. I moved around so much as a kid that people assumed that my family was military; instead they are educators with several interesting diversions and experiences. I have tried, and failed, to not be part of the family career of education for several years; but have started to come around to the idea that I care deeply that each child is granted an opportunity to grow and develop in the best way possible. I am an avid sports fan, (I watch, listen to, and play almost every sport), even to the point of annoying just about every other person. I have lived In Utah, California, Oregon, Taiwan (I still love the place), and Idaho. I definitely have a preference for places with a wide open and natural feel to them. I am still working on finishing a degree, but had started down the path of Political Science- Policy and Administration and realized that I was not a huge fan of being a lobbyist, I would much rather help people in a personal way. I came back to Utah to be closer to my family and am grateful for the many opportunities that have come from that decision to have an impact on kids' lives in a positive way. For some interesting flavoring to this bio, I speak Chinese, read a little Hebrew, and love to study linguistics. I can carry on a conversation about almost any topic, and love learning new things.
