My name is Collette Johnson. I grew up in Orem Utah, but have lived in Lehi with my husband for the past 24 years. We have four children, ranging in age from sixteen to thirty-two and one grandchild. I studied art and design in college and worked in the print industry for more than twenty years but when I started teaching piano ten years ago I realized how much I enjoyed teaching children. It is so rewarding to see each child learn and progress. Every child is unique and I think it is so important to help each child reach his or her full potential. Two of my children attended charter schools and they benefited greatly from them.

In addition to my love of art and music, my other passion is reading and I can spend endless hours in a quiet space with a stack of books! I also love animals, especially dogs; they give so much and they ask so little of us in return. I enjoy the outdoors and going camping and hiking with my family and our dogs; Utah is such a beautiful state, I feel blessed to live here!

I am very excited to start this new school year with the wonderful children and teachers at Ascent Academy!
