Aloha! My name is Mikilani Tupuola and this will be my 3rd year with Ascent! I am
originally from Hawaii but my husband and I moved to Utah 2 years ago. I have been a
teacher for 19 years and received my teaching degree from an indigenous Maori
university in New Zealand. I began my teaching career in New Zealand and moved on
to teach in Japan before returning to Hawaii. I look forward to working with a new class
of 2nd graders.

I am a mom of 3 of the best dogs on the planet and in my free time I like to take them on
little trips to explore the beauty Utah has to offer. I enjoy being outdoors and my
husband and I love to fish, hike, and camp. I love to sing and hope to audition for a
community theater show sometime this year. We also enjoy attending concerts and live
sports events whenever we can. My husband is also one of the fireknife dancers that
will be performing at the BYU home games this upcoming football season! We love
Utah and are so happy to call this place home.
